G20 is an American action-thriller film released in 2025, directed by Patricia Riggen. The film stars Viola Davis (Danielle Sutton), who is the President of the United States, and who was previously a soldier and war hero. The film is set during a major international meeting called the G20 Summit, held in Cape Town, South Africa, and attended by several of the most powerful nations of the world.
Then, a band of armed mercenaries (hire soldiers) seize control of the summit, headed by Edward Rutledge, an ex-Australian soldier (Antony Starr). Rutledge and his mercenaries have several world leaders hostage, including the family of President Sutton.
Rutledge has a sinister plan; he plans to use deepfake videos (false videos created with advanced technology) and cryptocurrency to destroy the economies of the world, and make himself powerful and wealthy.
In spite of being held captive under pressure, and being away from her loved ones, President Sutton is resolute and composed. She battles with the help of her partner, Secret Service Agent Manny Ruiz. With the partnership of her military background, intelligence, and courage, she takes on the terrorists with the aim to stop and hinder them.
